Mysore-style classes are suitable for all levels and you do not need any previous yoga experience to begin. Everyone works at their own pace and ability with the teacher. New students start by learning the Ashtanga primary series and will be taught each posture one at a time with individual instruction.
For first timers we offer a one week intro special but, in order to get a true taste of this practice, a commitment of one month is highly recommended. Consistency is an essential requirement to reap the full benefits of this practice. Conventionally this style is practiced 6 days a week, but if you are completely new to yoga, coming 3 times a week is also a good start.
On your first day you will be taught a specific breathing technique and the traditional Sun Salutations, Surya Namaskara A and B, which form the beginning sequence of the Ashtanga practice. Your first visit will only be about 30 minutes but as you get introduced to more postures, the length of your practice will gradually increase.
